Sha lo tung is host to four endemic species and it is the only site in the world to support two macromidia species which were first described as new to science from there . it is also the only type locality to provide breeding habitat for six internationally rare species 沙罗洞是四种蜻蜓特有物种的天堂，也是全球首次发现两个伪蜻科蜻蜓macromidia的地点，除此之外，并为全球六种稀有蜻蜓提供唯一典型的繁殖生境。
