To control the quality of tpi , rp - hplc was used to determine the content of propanoic acid and proto - catechuic aldehyde in it . the results show that the average recovery rate was 98 . 01 % , 97 . 43 % and rsd = 2 . 75 % , 2 . 83 % respectively . this method is simple , accurate with strong reproducibility , and can be used for the quality control of danshen in any other compounded medications
