为了给上述模式提供进一步的支持材料，本研究最后采用76名大学生为被试，在实脸室环境中对无关变量加以控制，干预被试的自主需要满足程度，结果发现满足个体的自主需要可以显著性地增加内部动机，并促进创造性成绩；但需要的满足更多影响的是作品的新颖性，对适宜性的影响有限；创造性活动的质量有可能是以创造性活动的数量为代价的。
