本论文结构共分6个部分：第一部分，从全息学的基本观点出发，构建出由一维时间、三维空间和多维系统组成的全息空间，这为研究旅游地域各子系统的多样性和多角度性提供了理论的依托，并将元化思考、分形理论和扎根理论作为旅游地域开发的主要方法论，构建出旅游地域全息开发的思维范式，为旅游地域的开发奠定了坚实的理论框架；第二部分，从全息角度对旅游地域系统，包括客体系统和主体系统，进行全新的界定，尤其对旅游活动、旅游者、旅游资源及旅游产品的概念进行全新界定，认为只有从信息角度才能理解旅游活动产生、发展以及旅游者的需求和效用，并在旅游地域开发关系上提出了互为主体的观念；第三部分，从空间角度对旅游地域进行分析，认为旅游地域是运动的，要素运动形成要素的结构变化，进而推动整个旅游地域的运动，同时，旅游地域运动还受到环境系统的制约和影响，笔者还对旅游地域相互作用关系作了较为深入的研究，认为不同等级间和同等级间旅游地域相互作用遵循不同的规律；第四部分，通过对旅游地域周期理论的再认识，详细分析了影响旅游周期的因素，并提出旅游地域全息周期的理想模式是logistic曲线；第五部分，笔者对旅游地域的开发模式进行了总结，从主体角度提出了4种旅游地域全息开发模式? ?资源主导型、学者主导型、企业媒体主导型和政府大众主导型，并从环境系统对旅游地域开发的影响程度出发，提出2种修正模式? ?微阻碍模式和重阻碍模式；第六部分，以安西县为例，在全息分析安西县旅游地域发展状况之后，强调旅游产品的开发与设计是旅游地域开发的关键，并运用全息的观点对旅游产品开发进行了实证研究。
