I used to ignore cuckoos , and generally pass them all off as “ orientals ” on account of their being so difficult to observe ( usually only seen flying away through the trees with a couple of screaming chinese bulbuls in tow ) , i reckon that they are as big a test of one ' s patience as they are of one ' s id skills
