本文利用4个包含字符背景分信息布的参数，实现了背景色的统一；在预处理中提出了一种基于灰度期望的改进二值化算法；字符分割阶段在竖直投影法的基础上，提出利用自适应的字符宽度和字符的凹凸信息将牌照分割为单个字符；最后使用bp神经网络进行字符的识别。
