这一系统采用的方法是通过对位置敏感探测器psd受到调制目标光源照射后输出的模拟交流信号进行有源带通滤波，提取出代表目标光源的调制频率成份，再将该信号转变为用来参与位置解算的直流信号，然后选用单片机组成硬件电路，对直流信号进行采集处理并与计算机建立通信，把数据送入计算机进行位置解算，分析判别目标光源和psd器件的相对位置。
